The Austrian company “Life Tool” (www.lifetool.at) offers soft skills and hardware for people with mental and physical handicap. “Life Tool” not only markets products, they also offer free of charge consultancy.

We could make use of free testing soft- and hardware, e.g. different sensing devices, computer mouse, joysticks, etc. The quality and user-friendliness of available software and input devices is remarkable.

Word recognition software, simple counting, memory, puzzles, skill games – all these software tools motivated our clients and their trainers to spend many hours in front of the computer.

The association with computer technologies was a fruitful, colorful and motivating experience for all of us. We are looking forward to further adventures in this field.

  1. Very useful document for all who want to help people with disabilities using software. I believe there are quite a lot of space for even better solution in this field. However it has to be done in trandisciplinary teams. Maybe some companies will see important niche for theirs development.
